Over 60% of retracted scientific articles are retracted due to unintentional errors.
This includes errors caused by mislabeling of sample tubes containing key reagents, cell lines, microbial stocks or expression plasmids.
Even with experienced researchers, there is often a certain amount of time that is lost while retrieving samples due to re-organizing overcrowded freezers, or because boxes have been moved. Indeed it can happen at the most inopportune time, and often causes significant delays to projects.
Have you even been a victim of “Sample-Geddon”?
Coming up next week: Meet our Sample Sam and find the answers how to keep track of your valuable samples and reagents.
